All eyes on America!!
Yesterday American people were advocating for Changes they need, presidential candidates promising and distributing their manifestos.
But now all that is a mystery.
Today is a new day in America and the rest of the world the democrats have written a new Chapter in the history of America's politics after winning more than 50% of popular votes and expanding their control of the senate by 5 seats.
"Change has eventually come to America!"
Many Ugandans have been closely following the run-up to the U.S elections.
Not even the time difference between Uganda and America has stopped Ugandans from staying updated as the Americans cast their votes. Last night many Ugandans kept their radios and televisions on throughout the night to listen as announcements of results were broadcast and watched the successive results as the different States in America went to vote.
My point is not Political, but rather the role of Information and Communications Technologies (ICTs) in bridging the gap caused by distance and time differences across the world, With satellite television channels, radios and the internet, America is less than a fraction of a second away.
However the real story is not ICTs; the story is “Change has come to America”
The results after the previous 23 or so hours show that Barrack Obama has been elected as the 44th President of the United States.
All eyes on America!!
