Violence rears its ugly head in Matebeleland

As we speak people are being beaten using chains and burnt with plastic. War veterans shamelessly drip melting plastic on their victims. Homes are burnt down with children and women - the whole family - inside; some people have died from injuries .We recieve reports daily of different cases and many threats . I don't think we can do a run-off/ re-run whatever they want to call it - its only another strategy of the regime.They have been campaigning violently; preaching that they have the list of their registered members and will know after the re-run who voted for Mugabe. Those that didn't will be dealt with. And of course they preach that a Tsvangirai win will lead to bloodshed. And we wonder what the UN security Council plans; we think they are our only hope to save Zimbabwe. Of course they said they have a lot of countries to attend to, but I believe a single life killed or tortured through political violence is enough to make a noise about. We fear that we are waiting for another massacre.
