CJA -TOT Workshop Day 2 Recap

Day two started with Matthew giving us a recap of day one and later Brett took us through three sessions for day.

The first session was on what is news and the aim of this session was to introduce us to the concept of news, so as to appreciate what it and knows how to identify a newsworthy story.  Later in the session we watched a video on democracy on decline.

The 2^nd session was on news gathering the module provide us with tools and skills on how to gather news. In this session we look at identifying stories, finding the sources of your information, presenting evidence and that the story should have more than just two sides. We were later divided into groups and assigned to go out gather news and later made presentation.

The last session of the day was on News Writing. In this module we were provided with guidelines for writing news and the different types of writing such as feature article, news reporting, opinion and blogs. This session made us appreciate the different type of news and how each is formatted.

The day ended with an assignment on feature writing.
