Day four

Day four in Citizen Journalism we looked at feature writing and we had practicals on web publishing.
It was interesting to learn that in feature writing you need to go to experts in the field who would give you background information on what you want to write on. Sometimes it helps to write the whole story first and figure out the intro later.
One way to write effectively is to alternate facts with quotes or emotions through out the feature. Your feature should end with a kicker to give a final impression. The kicker is just as important as the intro.

 The afternoon was a practical one as we went through picture editing, profile writing and sound bite. This is in preparation for web designing.

 In my view the day was an educative one as every one appeared to be interested to work and I hope this will be the spirit as we practice as citizen journalists.
