Globally traditional journalism has been superceded by information and Communication technological advancement. Gathering news, writing, editing and publishing through newspapers, magazine and broadcast over Radios or television is traditional journalism and is no more.

Internet modernized journalism. Time immemorial, journalism was a professional career where by news was personalized to professional journalists and only telecasted on televisions and broadcasted over the radios., unlike today journalism is owned by the citizens and netizens of the globe, making a milestone to human rights advancement. Journalists live within our communities hence news could be accessed, disseminated faster.

Ntulume Village   Women Development Association a well though organisation aims at human right advancement and entrepreneurship/ICT’s development of women.  Entrepreneurship alone is not an end means of women empowerment.  Practical technical skills need to be offered to women, thus add value worth for a living.  Nviwoda on 25th trained women in Liquid soap production.

On 24th June 2009, Women of Uganda Network (WOUGNET) in collaboration with NVIWODA has concluded a Regional Workshop in Kampala by equipping the members with practical skills in citizen journalism.  The beneficiaries of the workshop gained sufficient knowledge and skills that could able them to document their own human right issues and social and economic empowerment stories within their communities and organisations.

In order to protect human rights of citizens, collect and disseminate information faster citizen journalism is a way forward to create wealth and good citizens.  Ethical Citizen Journalists have their right to deliver and actively participate in the citizen journalism activities.
