Posted by lufeyo 16 Jul 2008 - 19:05 Young people are more likely to be affected by HIV and AIDS than any other age group, but they are also more likely to change their behaviour as a result of education than any other group. At a time when, globally, more children are in school than ever before, it is therefore vitally important that countries invest in schools as a means of informing young people about how they can avoid HIV and AIDS before it is too late. Studies have shown that the HIV prevalence of an area is likely to decrease as education increases, that primary education can half the risk of infection amongst young people and that reduced vulnerability to HIV is observed in people with secondary or higher education. Schooling increases earning power, self-confidence and social status, allowing young people to take greater control over their sexual choices |

Posted by Nelson 16 Jul 2008 - 16:52 The affernon was very exciting .Participants were given assignment to go out on the street to interview people about the most issues that they are concerned with.Various people gave thier views: A student at Munali Secondary School said he was more concerned about the lives of young people. Most of them ,he said, are moving in the direction where they dont know. The issue of young people abusing drugs was not ignored. Many young people are using drugs without being aware of the consequences.' I feel sad because youths in Zambia are taking drugs and are not concentrating on thier on studies". |
Posted by Victor 15 Jul 2008 - 19:23 it is vital to recognise that capitalism is an old practice though the term was devloped later. in zambia for example during the rule by the chiefs thier was a fom of trade that existed and if analysed well it could be seen to be very exploitative. |
