HA 2008 - Taking your Blog to another Level
Highway Africa conference 2008 was the place to be 7th - 10th September 2008. An incredibly rich program of lectures, workshops, discussions and interactive events. The choice of what to attend was at times confusing but it was worth it. The conference was not limited to discussion on the theme ‘Citizen Journalism, Journalism for citizens but also had training sessions on how to track stories with google tools, blogging, pod casts among others.
One of the workshop topics that caught my eye was take your blog to another level! Finding no time to keep your personal blog active or lost the moment of blogging due to lack of what to write about? Wondering how to take your blog to another level yet have not created one? Perhaps you need to know some of the tips given by Dr. Romon Thomas.
Dr. Ramon gave delegates three pillars that can help one improve blogging – knowing the message, keeping momentum and marketing your blog.
What are you taking about? Talk about what you think about most, dream about, spend most of the time and money doing...the list is endless. Focus on what you like most.
How do you keep the momentum of blogging? Look out for what you like by making a hierarchy of values, focus on one, but you can have sub-categories in your blog. Reevaluate your list of hierarchy if you loose the momentum.
Your blog will become marketable once you know and focus on your message. It is also important to note that authoritative blogging requires writting indepth articles. And lastly link your blog to your facebook profile.
