Media Law Policy (2003)

A Media Law Policy was published in November 2003. It continues an already-existing system under which newspapers have to be registered. It also contains broad restrictions on content. Importantly for citizen journalism, it proposes to bring internet services under the same law and regulations governing broadcast.

Editors and journalists must be accredited, and the government's website lists minimum qualifications for these jobs.
