Travel documents for MDC leadership confiscated

At around 14h00 hours today, immigration officers at the Harare International Airport confiscated travel documents belonging to Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) President, Morgan Tsvangirai, Secretary General, Tendai Biti and the party’s Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Elphat Mukonoweshuro for unspecified reasons. The officers also confiscated travel documents belonging to three party presidential aides.

The six were preparing to board a South African Airways flight to South Africa where they were invited to attend the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Heads of state meeting penciled for the 16th to the 18th of August 2008.
